Summary of each one

PRS describes itself as committed to protecting the value of music and ensure our members are represented. This means that it ensures that your music would be protected from copyright infringement it will also ensure that the music you create will be represented as yours. it also works to collect royalties thorough licencing agreements with music users. which will allow the creator to earn revenue from their work. all this was to help fund new music new music wand also support future music.

The copyright and ownership law was created to protect written, theatrical musical and artistical work this is designed to protect original work. If someone wants to use your copyrighted work, they will need to seek your permission to use it. Often employers ask employees and any freelancers or contractors to sign an agreement that concedes copyright ownership. You cannot seek copyright protection for an idea, so before you disclose ideas to a third party you should consider drawing up and signing a non-disclosures agreement. You must be careful not to breach copyright protection for work in the public domain.

Production Health & Safety isn’t meant to be scary. The point of having sensible H&S measures in place is to keep everyone safe. Insurance may help cover the cost of damage or provide compensation in the case of injury or worse. It doesn’t stop these things from happening, it just deals with the aftermath. Film and TV productions often require long hours in challenging locations working to a fast turnaround. By having proper H&S procedures in place, you are playing your part in keeping everyone you work with safe.

These agreements  for artists’ contracts cover the detail of working terms and conditions such as numbers of performances, hours, breaks, health and safety, dispute procedures, usage rights, royalties and touring etc. Equity also offers a pension scheme. Artists have the option of opting into the scheme on each contract. The Production then needs to ensure that the appropriate deductions are made and the employer’s contribution paid into the scheme. In the US, artists agreements are negotiated by the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. These two unions have been merged are now known as SAG-AFTRA. When engaging background artistes, stand-ins and doubles, there are agreements with BBC, ITV and FAA (The Film Artistes Association).

Media regulations are used to ensure the music video does not have problems and that the content is within it is appropriate for its audience The BBFC mostly monitors the contents within the music video.UK record labels submit any music video for release online by artists signed to their label in the UK that they would expect to receive at least a 12 rating. The BBFC examines the videos and classifies them with the appropriate age rating, based on our published BBFC Classification Guidelines, and this is displayed with the video. Some British artists are signed to US record labels and their videos are not currently sent to us for classifying. You can search our website for all music videos currently given a BBFC age rating.

Task 2

PRS- We pay royalties for the use of our members music on tv channel on TV  through Licencing agreements with broadcaster including BBC sky ITV channel 4  and channel 5. This would be useful as it would allow us to secure agreements with artist for our music tv channel.

A secondary source for copyright laws would be DMCA laws as they protect artist music from being streamed illegally. fore the case study this would be useful as normal in publish copyright agreements are usually exchanged for commercial agreement.

This health and safety website http://www.spiritoccupationalhealth.co.uk/ explains the importance to complete recces and safety drills to prevent people from being hurt and equipment from being broken. For us this website could show us specific way in which safety procedures are completed.

https://www.stillmotionblog.com/why-release-form/

This website helps you understand what a release form is and why someone would need it. from this we can deduct that actors and production team would need release forms for production as it would show them what they would need to do for their job.

This link goes to the BBFC website which focuses on the content in the music video and if it is ok for parents and children. This would help us regulate our censorship of video and ensure no further actions takes place.
